AI Use Statement

Effective date: January 3, 2026

1. What we use AI for

Protahi uses generative AI tools to create all imagery displayed on this website and in related marketing materials.

2. What we do not use AI for

Protahi does not use AI on this website to identify visitors, perform biometric processing, or make decisions about individuals. Biometric processing (for example facial recognition used to identify someone) is a specific category of activity under New Zealand privacy guidance, and we avoid it.

3. Images based on real people

Some images may be based on real people (for example, a commissioned likeness or a concept grounded in a real individual). Where an image is intended to depict a real person in an identifiable way, Protahi’s standard is to do so with permission and an appropriate lawful basis.

Photos and other identifiable images can be personal information under the Privacy Act, so we treat identifiable likeness as something to handle carefully.

4. Unintended resemblance

AI generated images can sometimes resemble real people unintentionally. If you believe an image on our site depicts you (or someone you represent) and you want it removed or adjusted, contact us via the contact method on our website with:

  • the URL of the page

  • a short description of the image

  • what outcome you want (remove, replace, edit)

We will review and act where appropriate.

5. Handling personal information when using AI tools

New Zealand privacy guidance treats AI use as subject to the Privacy Act where personal information is involved, and highlights that prompts and inputs can be part of what must be protected.
Protahi’s default approach is to avoid putting identifiable personal information into AI tools unless there is a clear purpose, permission, and safeguards.

6. Changes

We may update this statement if our AI use changes. The effective date will be updated when changes are made.
